Zachary Taylor, 29, of Elizabeth man has been indicted by a Wood County Grand Jury and charged with drunken driving causing the death of his 7-year-old son and injury to his 6-year-old son.

Taylor was indicted on four counts, including driving under the influence causing death, and driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or greater causing death.

Seven-year-old Landon Taylor died from injuries he received in a car accident in March at Butcher Bend.

The youth and his five-year-old brother were passengers in a car driven by their father.

The vehicle Taylor was driving came to rest approximately 75 feet from the roadway after striking at least two trees, said Capt. Rick Woodyard with the Wood County Sheriff's Office.

According to a press release at the time of the accident, the Wood County crash team is ordered toxicology reports, but said they planned to study the vehicle's data recorder.

Sgt. Brett Pickens with the Wood County Sheriff's Office said, "We suspected alcohol may play a contributing factor in this, so we did a search warrant to obtain blood from the driver. That has been done, and we're waiting on those results."

Landon Taylor was a 2nd Grader at Wirt County Primary Center. He was a LKC-C team All-Star Football Player in 2013 and participated in wrestling.

His great grandparents are Janet and Richard Whited of Grantsville.

A Celebration of Life was held at the Wirt County High School.
