CALHOUN'S FIRST FOREST FIRE OF SEASON REPORTED NEAR NORMAN RIDGE

Calhoun's first forest fire of the spring season broke out Tuesday night.

The Grantsville VFD responded to Lovada Road area off Norman Ridge just before 10 p.m.

The 911 caller reported about ten acres of woodland was on fire in a remote area.

With the first warm day in West Virginia, a number of fires have been reported around the state.

Spring forest fire season started on March 1.

Fires may only be burned from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m.
