WV TEACHERS GET $1,000 PAY BOOST

(03/10/2014)
The West Virginia Legislature approved a one-time, across-the-board pay raise of $1,000 for public school teachers in the Mountain State.

School service personnel will also get a two percent pay increase.

West Virginia is lagging behind most neighboring states with teacher salary, particularly with pay scales attracting new teachers.

Legislators are hoping this is just the first step in establishing a $43,000 dollar starting salary for teachers within the next five years.
