FUNERAL SET FOR ROANE MAN WHO DIED AFTER MOBILE HOME FIRE

A Roane County man has died from burns he received Saturday night when his mobile home caught fire on Cabbage Fork. The State Fire Marshal's Office has confirmed that Johnnie Westfall, 62, of Harmony, was the victim. A funeral for the man is scheduled for Sunday at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer. The fire marshal's office does not believe the fire to be suspicious at this time, but the cause of the fire has not been determined. Spencer Newspapers reported that man, who lived alone, was rescued by a family member from the inferno. Westfall suffered burns to 60% of his body and was flown by chopper to a medical center. The Gandeeville and Walton Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the fire, the mobile home a total loss.
