Glenville State College's men and women's basketball teams have advanced to the semifinal bracket in the Mountain East Conference Championships underway at Charleston's Civic Center.

Friday afternoon the GSC men's squad secured their quarterfinal win against Shepherd 74-72 in the final seconds of the contest.

Glenville's Lady Pioneers are the season champions and seeded the #1 women's team in the tournament mixed up the pace of their game against Wheeling Jesuit Thursday, defeating them 75-53.

The tournament's semifinal bracket is today. The championship is Sunday.

At 2:15 the Lady Pioneers face WV State with the winner facing the victor of the noon game featuring West Liberty vs Charleston. Men's games resume at 6 p.m. at the Civics center when Glenville takes on Charleston. Saturday's 8:15 p.m. contest pits West Liberty against Fairmont State.

The tournament championship games Sunday begin with the women's final at 1 p.m., the men's final starts at 3:30.
