CUNNINGHAM TO BE RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL THIS WEEK - Extended Recovery Period For Pelvis Injuries, Funeral Arrangements Pending For Wife

(03/05/2014)
Mt. Zion resident Mike Cunningham is expected to be released from CAMC this week after undergoing extensive surgery for injuries to his pelvis, suffered last week in a two-vehicle collision at Grantsville that killed his wife Tammy.

Cunningham is expected to be confined to a wheelchair for a number of weeks while undergoing rehabilitation to be returned to mobility, according to family members.

Family members indicated the recovery period could be several months.

Cunningham's son, Mike, Jr. has been released from the hospital.

State Police say a speeding, impaired driver crashed into the Cunningham family car.

The driver, 18-year-old Randall Luke Baker of Slab Fork was not injured.

Police have charged Baker with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, causing death. He is in Central Regional Jail with bond set at $40,000.

Funeral arrangements for Mrs. Cunningham are expected to be completed this week.
