CALHOUN COUNTY YOUTH LIVESTOCK PROGRAM SEEKS YOUTH PARTICIPATION - Showing And Selling Livestock Projects Meeting Today

The Calhoun County Youth Livestock Program will hold the first livestock workshop of 2014 on Saturday starting at 9 a.m. at Calhoun Middle High School.

Any youth wishing to participate in the youth livestock program may do so by joining 4-H or FFA, and sign the Calhoun County Youth Livestock Program Contract.

Throughout the year youth will participate in up to 6 workshops to teach them fundamental livestock principles, and will exhibit and sell their projects the Saturday of WV Molasses Festival.

Youth are allowed to show one large livestock project and one small livestock project. The large livestock projects consist of Feeder Hefier/Steer, Market Lamb, Market Hog, Market Goat, Dairy Goat. Small Livestock Projects are Broiler Chickens, and Meat Rabbit.
