The Calhoun Board of Education met Thursday evening working on issues related to a $860,000 deficit, including a Reduction in Force (RIF) plan.

The board also eliminated Spring Break and is converting other off days to instructional days to make up a large number of snow/inclement weather days.

The board agenda indicated the last day for students is May 28 and the last employment day is June 2.

The board has scheduled a special meeting for March 3 to accept the resignation of Superintendent Roger Propst on that date and to appoint an interim superintendent until the end of the school year.

Future Board Dates:

March 13, 2014, LSIC Meeting, 5:30 p.m., Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center

March 27, 2014, LSIC Meeting, 6:30 p.m., Calhoun Middle-High School
