Shirl Singleton, 71 - Weston

Shirl Singleton also known as Shirley Ann King age 71 of Weston, West Virginia, departed this life at 8:15 AM; Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Heartland of Clarksburg following an extended illness.

Born May 14, 1942 in Braxton County, daughter of the late Russell and Violet Howes Cottrill.

Shirl spent most of her working life as a home care provider, she enjoyed photography, painting, country music, singing, crocheting, embroidering, and spending time with family when possible.

Surviving are 3 children, Harvey King of Glenville WV, Virginia Sonbergers of Port Orange FL, and Judy Peggs of Glenville; 4 grandchildren, Jeanetta Garcia of Norfolk VA, Brian Peggs of Leon WV, April and May Sonberger of McKee's Rocks PA; 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 1 sister, Brenda "Sue" Cottrill; 2 brothers, William "Bill" Cottrill and Eugene "Buster" Cottrill; 2 stepbrothers, Wayne Cottrill and Calvin Cottrill; and her significant other, Robert Moore of Weston.

Along with her parents, Shirl was preceded in death by 2 infant sons, Carl and Bill King; and 1 sister Juanita "Kate" Jenkins.

At Shirl's request her remains will be cremated and a memorial service will be set at a later date.

Ellyson Mortuary Inc. is assisting the family of Shirl Singleton with arrangements.
