| John Andrew Nida, 75, of Looneyville, West Virginia died February 23, 2014 at the Roane General Hospital after a sudden illness.
John was born July 17, 1938 in Roane County, a son of the late John W. "Bud" and Mary Bethel Strickland Nida. He was a welltender for Allegheny & Western and previously for Petro. He enjoyed fishing and loved his grandchildren. In addition to his paretns he was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Nichols Nida.
He is survived by three daughters, Wanda Nida and Tammy Nichols, both of Looneyville and Melinda Burdette of Clay, West Virginia; one sister, Mary Ellen Godbey of Indiana; one brother, Orland Ray Nida of Looneyville; five grandchildren, Nickie Jane, Brandon Noyal, Robin Marie, Jonathan Andrew and Daniel Boone; and one great-granddaughter, Maciah Jewel.
Service 11:00am Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer, West Virginia. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Nida Cemetery, Looneyville.
