WALNUT RD. ACCIDENT CAUSED BY SNOW-COVERED HIGHWAY - Vehicle Plunges Into Spencer Creek

(02/14/2014)
Snow covered highways have led to several accidents.

Two people were involved Thursday night in a single vehicle accident on Walnut Road, off State Rt. 16 near Chloe.

Minnie Hamilton EMS and the Upper West Fork VFD responded to the 911 call at 8:30 p.m.

The occupants included a male, and a female who was reported 3-months pregnant. Reports indicated that the parties did not appear to be injured, and were not taken to the hospital.

The Spencer-Roane VFD and Roane EMS were called at 8:35 p.m. to the intersection of US 33-State Rt. 14 in Spencer where a car left the highway and plunged into a creek.

The SRVD reported they needed a wrecker ASAP with the car being unstable and the driver inside.

A short time later responders said the car was stabilized and the driver was being removed.
