Joseph Edward Santos, 78 - Looneyville

Joseph Edward Santos, 78, of Looneyville, WV, died February 9, 2014, at his home after an extended illness.

He was born August 14, 1935, in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Joseph and Dianna Marino Santos.

Mr. Santos was a retired fighter pilot with the U.S. Navy and a retired professor of Physics and Nuclear Science at the University of Georgia. He was also a former employee of the Homeland Security Agency. He was a member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Spencer and he enjoyed spending time on his computer.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille Serafine Santos, whom he married December 24, 1988, in Norristown, PA; sons, John Puccella of Pottstown, PA and Kristopher Puccella of Quackertown, PA; daughter, Amanda Price of Looneyville; five grandchildren, John, Kristopher, Taylor, Dylan and Tiffany.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Spencer, with Father Josh Stevens as Celebrant. Friends may call at the church thirty minutes before the mass. Burial will be in the family cemetery.

John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, is in charge of arrangements.
