Clora Velma Murphy, 91 - Glenville

Clora Velma Murphy, 91, of Glenville, WV departed this life February 8, 2014 in United Hospital Center after a brief illness. Born August 16, 1922 in Clay County, WV, a daughter of the late Newman A. Taylor and Harriot Jane Grey Taylor. In past years, Clora was employed by Summers Pharmacy, Glenville State College and Kenny Shoe Factory. She was a lifelong Jehovah's Witness and a member of the Glenville congregation. On June 24, 1941 she married James M. Murphy who preceded her in death July 6, 1963. Clora is survived by two children, James A. Murphy (Joan) of Glenville and Judith A. Huddleston (Haynes) of Parkersburg WV; four grandchildren, Maria Becker (Andy) and Christopher Huddleston (Brandi) both of Parkersburg, Jason Murphy of Waynesburg PA and Justin Murphy of Glenville; one brother, Carl V. Taylor of Pacifica CA; one sister-in-law, Anna Jean Allen of Normantown WV and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Clora was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers, Cleora V. Manno, Clozzeta V. Ferrari, Clayton V. Taylor, Clemon V. Taylor, Claudius V. Taylor and Newman A. Taylor Jr. Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV at 11:00 a.m. Thursday February 13, 2014. Burial will follow in the Meadow Lane Cemetery, Route 5 West of Glenville. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
