| The WV Senate has issued a bill that would raise the minimum wage in West Virginia, while the US Congress has been at a stalemate over a federal minimum wage increase.
The latest bill, passed by the committee Thursday, would increase the wage to $8.00 beginning Jan. 1, 2015 and then increase it to $8.75 an hour Jan. 1, 2016.
Minimum wage bills have considerable opposition.
