Alfred Leon Cline, 75 - Sandyville

Alfred Leon Cline, 75, of Sandyville, W.Va., passed away peacefully on Feb. 1, 2014, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus, surrounded with the love of his family.

Alfred was born Jan. 27, 1939, in Leroy, W.Va., a son of the late Elliott and Zona "Wilkinson" Cline.

He served in the Army as a military policeman in Germany. Alfred worked for Union Carbide for several years. He retired from Eveready Battery Company in Marietta after 28 years of service.

Surviving is his wife, Carol "Buffington" Cline; two daughters, Teresia Fought (Tim Abel) of Big Springs, W.Va., and Rebecca (Shawn) Almashy, also of Sandyville; one son, Alfred Cline Jr. of Sandyville; one grandson, Adam Abel of Big Springs; three granddaughters, Tonya "Fought" Lanham of Parkersburg, and Sara and Jessica Almashy of Sandyville; two brothers, Elden (Jan) Cline of Sandyville and Elbert (Vicky) Cline of Walker, W.Va.; and one sister, Velma (Carol) Bain of Leroy.

In addition to his parents, Alfred is preceded in death by his sister, Lora Marie Sullivan in 2009.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the Union Chapel Church on Windy Ridge Road, Sandyville, with Pastor Danny Schreckengost officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
