DEAD BIRD BEING EVALUATED FOR WEST NILE - Calhoun Yet To Have Positive Result

Marlan Zwoll, sanitarian with the Calhoun County Health Department, said he was shipping another dead bird from Calhoun yesterday for examination for the West Nile Virus. So far, Calhoun has not had a positive identification.

Four more counties have been added to the positive list, bringing the total to 30.

They are Lewis, Marshall, Mineral and Randolph.

West Nile Virus has led to the death of less than 100 individuals around the country. It is spread by mosquito bites.
