WINTER WEATHER ALERT: Snow Predicted 4-6" Through Monday

(02/03/2014)

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Sunday 10 p.m. through Monday 1 p.m. for Calhoun and the region with heavy wet snow predicted.

NWS says the snow accumulation has been raised 4-6 inches.

Rain is expected to freezing rain and sleet to snow late Sunday night.

Temperatures falling into the upper 20s to lower 30s.

With January, 2014, passing into history, it will be remembered as the winter we haven't had for many years, with old-timers always saying, "Winters used to be like this all the time."

The lowest unofficial temperature reported to the Hur Herald was -12, but most parts of the county reported a January low of -10.

Now comes February, which often has colder temperatures than January.
