IVYDALE MAN ARRESTED FOR PIPE BOMB MATERIALS

Police in Clay County found materials to make pipe bombs inside a home, after they responded to a domestic dispute in Ivydale.

Michael N. Darius Jr., 68, of Ivydale, was arrested Friday and charged with possession of explosives without a permit and domestic battery, according to a news release from the WV State Police.

A woman at the residence said Darius hit her before fleeing, according to the news release.

The woman also said there were materials used to make pipe bombs inside the home.

An officer called the State Police Explosives Response Team, who came and removed the materials without incident.

Darius was arraigned in Clay County Magistrate Court and released on bond.
