PLEASANT HILL PSD STARTS PROCESS FOR WATERLINE EXPANSION - Public Water Project $2.1 Million

(02/01/2014)
The Pleasant Hill Public Service District says it has some good news for some Calhoun communities, according to Dale Cunningham, Chairman of the PSD.

The district met with Tim Meeks of the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Council and Jim Hildreth of Hildreth and Boyles Wednesday to sign an Appalachian Regional Commission grant application to provide water service for new customers.

The ARC application is for a $1 million grant, with the projected project costing $2.1.

The application will start the process to provide service to areas that do not have public water, including new customers on Leading Creek, Leafbank, and Upper Backfork.

The application also calls for improvements from Jackson Hill to the Big Springs pump house.

Cunningham said, "This line has been a problem area that has plagued the PHPSD with leaks and has caused numerous water outages, an inconvenience to our customers."
