In October WCBA did an educational display at the WV Black Walnut Festival in Spencer, which also included a fundraiser, from which their cost sharing program will partially reimburse it's participating members for the purchase of bees and wood ware.

November was highlighted by involvement in the Heritage Days Festival in Elizabeth, where volunteer members interacted with school students to answer questions about Honey and beekeeping.

Dale and Janet Cunningham provided an observation hive for the event. Sharon Christ introduced inner hive products, such as pollen and propolis and the health benefits of honey and related products.

Larry and Marianne Siers provided honey straws for a tasty treat, as well as explaining equipment and protective gear.

There was no meeting in December, and the beginners class was postponed until February. Each year WCBA provides this class then assists with new members getting their start up in beekeeping. Instructors this year will include Wade Stiltner, Dale Cunningham and David Tatterson.

January brought the Honey Expo at WVUP, which was attended by members, Zelma Boggess Larry and Marianne Siers, David and Nancy Eads, as well as Sharon Christ, who had a display of her products which were created from the hive.

We are hoping for a bountiful Spring, with hives full of thriving Honey Bees.
