CALHOUN-CONNECTED POLICEMAN INJURED IN PARKERSBURG THEFT INCIDENT - Driver Shot By Officer

(01/17/2014)
A Calhoun-connected man, Parkersburg detective J. Mike Stalnaker, was one of two officers involved in a dangerous situation at Grand Central Mall earlier this week.

Stalnaker, the son of the late James and Jewell Stalnaker of Orma and the son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Ullum, was dragged across a parking lot by a driver helping a man escape from a theft at the mall.

Another Parkersburg detective shot and killed the man after he pointed the vehicle toward him and accelerated, according to the police.

Steven Pflazgraf, 24, Parkersburg, has been identified as the deceased driver.

Arrested for the incident was John and Jenna Ragalyi of New Matamoras.

Stalnaker was taken to the hospital with some injuries, then released.
