MARY E. PROUDFOOT - Formerly of Grantsville

Mary E. Proudfoot, 91, formerly of Grantsville, West Virginia, died September 10 in Mifflin Center, Shillington, PA where she had resided for one month.

Born in Grantsville, she was a daughter of the late Asa B. and Virgin Barnes Harris. She had been an elementary school teacher in the Grantsville School District for 21 years until her retirement.

She was a graduate of Calhoun County High school and received her bachelor of arts degree in elementary education from Glenville State College and did graduate work at Est Virginia University. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurl W. Proudfoot in 1989 and is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Jo Anne P. Rahn of Reading, Pennsylvania and a sister, Mrs. Geneva Harris Johnson of Trenton, Michigan; two granddaughters and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Grantsville. Reverend James Skedel will officiate. Interment will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery, Grantsville. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to services.
