"THE BEAR REPORT" - Rapidly Improving After Heart Transplant

(09/13/2002)
Larry "Bear" Kerby is rapidly improving after a heart transplant last week at the Cleveland Clinic.

"He is feeling much better and looking good," said a family spokesperson.

He is expected to be released from the main clinic on Monday, returning to an apartment where he will continue convalescing. There are indications he may be able to return to his home at Mount Zion in early October.

Kerby has been at the Cleveland Clinic complex since the last week of June, mostly waiting on the availability of a heart.
