Nellie Grace Harris Settle, 76 - Little Hocking, Ohio

Nellie Grace Harris Settle, 76, of Little Hocking, Ohio, died Jan. 7, 2014, surrounded by her family and loved ones.

She was born on July 7, 1937, in Gilmer County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Alva and Delpha Dobbins Harris.

Nellie was a seamstress for Hodge Apparel and a member of the Rush Run Baptist Church. She loved fishing, camping, gardening, going to her beloved Bluegrass Festivals, and most of all, being with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her three children, Elaine Boston of Harrisville, W.Va., Greg Settle and wife, Kayvonne, of Little Hocking, and Jennifer Tallman and husband, Shawn, of Normandy, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Amanda Boston of Washington, D.C., Christina Layman and husband, Fred of Ellenboro, W.Va., Jordan and Collin Settle of Lubeck, W.Va., and Rachael, Nicholas and Allison Tallman of Normandy; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Brady and Sophie Layman of Ellenboro; two brothers, Sam Harris of Strongsville, Ohio and Alva "Sonny" Harris and wife, Connie of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; four sisters, Lyda Harris of Stumptown, Minnie Stalnaker of Grafton, W.Va., Sue Morton and husband, Leland of Harrisville, W.Va., and Lou Miller and husband, Joe of Stumptown; friend, Charles Settle of Marietta, Ohio; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and Bluegrass friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth "Mike" Harris and Clarence "Bud" Harris; and three sisters, Betty Schoolcraft, Jean Lyons and Wanda Lee Harris.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with the Rev. Kenny Kendall officiating. Interment will follow at Collins Community Cemetery in Stumptown. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
