Paul Morgan Lester, 84 - Spencer

Paul Morgan Lester, 84, of Spencer, West Virginia, a son of the late Kenny and Grace Morgan Lester of Pink, West Virginia, departed this life Monday, January 6, 2014 at Camden-Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, West Virginia. He was also preceded in death by a brother, John, a sister, Ruth, and a nephew, Wayne.

Born December 4, 1929 in Pink, Paul lived his youth in Calhoun and Roane County. He was a graduate of Calhoun County High School and served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Upon returning from the service, he worked for the power company in Spencer and then moved to Cleveland, Ohio and spent 33 years working at General Motors.

Paul loved to travel, go camping, and spent a lot of time on the river boating. He also loved shopping and spending time with friends. He was a Christian and in December 2012 gave his life to the Lord.

Surviving Paul are his nieces, Johanna Lester and Linda Crawford; a sister-in-law, Gretchen Lester; friends, Gary and Delores Hensley of Spencer; and a close friend, Lula Young.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, with Rev. Jackie Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Calhoun County. Visiting is two hours prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
