Albert Ray Selmon, 85 - Five Forks

Albert Ray Selmon, 85, of Five Forks WV, went to be with the Lord Monday, January 6, 2014 at Minnie Hamilton Health Care in Grantsville.

He was born in the Broomstick community, the son of the late Alfred Preston and Mattie Jane Selmon. He was a member of the Five Forks Community Church where he taught for 25 years. He worked in the oil and gas industry, highway and pipeline construction, drove a school bus and retired from the WV Division of Highways.

Surviving are his loving wife of 64 years, Opal G. Selmon; two daughters, Phyllis M. Smith and Sandra S. Osborne; two grandsons, Christopher J. Osborne and Matthew C. Osborne; two granddaughters, Dena M. Roberts and Tiffany B. Allison; five great grandchildren, Dylan, Haden, Jayda, Kinlea and Caden; and two great-great grandchildren, Dylan and Elli.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronzil Selmon and Floyd Selmon; one sister Grace Herron LaRue and one nephew, Ronnie Herron.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 10, 2014, 1:00 pm, at the Five Forks Community Church with Rev. Alfred Hickman officiationg. Burial will follow in the Broomstick Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 11:00-1:00 pm prior to the services.

Stump Funeral Home, Inc. in Grantsville is assisting the family with arrangements.
