Clarence E. "Corky" West, 86 - Spencer

Clarence E. "Corky" West, 86, of Spencer WV, died Sunday, January 5, 2014, in Genesis Health Care of Glenville.

He was born September 1, 1927 at Wallback, a son of the late Sam and Vesta Rogers West. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Garnett White Shock West; a brother, Lloyd West; and a sister, Marie Sayre.

Corky was a member of the Welder's and Pipefitter's Union, Local 798, Tulsa, OK. He was a 50 year member of the Linden Lodge No. 83, A.F. & A.M., Linden WV. He was an Air Force veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 21, Spencer and a member of the Spencer Baptist Temple, Spencer.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Faith Epling Miller West; stepsons, Jerry Shock and Rick Miller; brother, Carl West; several step grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 9 in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Homer Hensley officiating, immediately followed by military honors, accorded by the American Legion Post 21. Burial, with Masonic graveside rites, will be in the Laurel Point Cemetery, Newton.

Friends may call two hours before the funeral.
