| Howard Mowery age 82 of Glenville, West Virginia departed this life on Sunday, January 5, 2014 in the Genesis Health Care Center following an extended illness.
Born April 10, 1931 in Gilmer County, son of the late Jacob and Mamie Clevenger Mowery.
For most of his life Howard worked odd jobs and farming for the local people of Cedarville. He was also a Christian by faith.
Surviving are 2 sisters, Mary Jenkins of Perkins WV and Gertrude Jenkins of Gassaway WV; 2 brothers, Burnie Mowery of Weston WV and Clayton Mowery of Big Bend WV. There are several nieces and nephews also surviving.
Along with his parents, Howard was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Edward, Sammy, and Robert Mowery and 1 sister, Maggie Parker.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, West Virginia, 26351, at 1:00 p.m. Friday January 10, 2014 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Normantown WV. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Mortuary.
