POLICE KILL MAN DURING CHASE - The Harrison County Sheriff's Department is investigating a fatal police shooting on Interstate 79 during a chase.

Deputies shot the man after he rammed several police vehicles and tried to ram another one, according to media reports.

Sheriff Albert Marano and Harrison County Prosecuting Attorney Joe Shaffer say the chase began Monday after a woman reported being harassed by the man near the Clarksburg Post Office.

The man fled in a truck while Clarksburg police were questioning him.

Officers pursued the man onto U.S. 50 and sheriff's deputies joined the chase, but it was called off when speeds became too high for public safety.

The officers resumed the chase when the man tried to ram a civilian vehicle on I-79.
