WIRT COUNTY HAS STAND-BY WARMING CENTERS

Wirt County has established the following as official "Warming Centers" during the current arctic weather event, and placed these facilities on "stand-by": Wirt County Senior Citizens Building, the Coplin Clinic, the Elizabeth/Wirt Volunteer Fire Department, and the Wirt County Courthouse. The Red Cross will be able to activate the Elizabeth Baptist Church if overnight sheltering needs occur. If power should be lost in any area of Wirt County, these centers may be activated. Citizens should contact Wirt County Office of Emergency Services Director Ediwn L. "Bo" Wriston for placement as need arrises. Director Wriston may be reached at 304.629.3735.
