HUR HERALD WILL HAVE WEATHER REPORT FROM FROZEN - A Calhoun Name Place

(01/06/2014)
Tuesday morning the Hur Herald will have a temperature and weather report from Frozen, Calhoun County, as a major chill-down strikes the region.

The former Village of Frozen, now known as Frozen Run, was once a post office in Calhoun, now with a few residents living in the narrow valley.

Frozen postmaster William H. Hunt said in the 1930s, "Some very early pioneers came here on this creek and killed and skinned a buffalo and had to wrap up in the green skin to keep warm (from freezing to death). When the fire burned down the man had to be pulled out of the skin, nearly frozen and had to be thawed out."
