| Edie Permelia Spencer Bailey, 92, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Friday, January 3, 2014, in the Miletree Center, Spencer, after an extended illness.
She was born April 23, 1921, at Linden, a daughter of the late George and Laura Lipscomb Spencer and a proud descendent of the late Capt. John W. Spencer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Ralph Bailey in 1997.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, David and Virginia Bailey of Spencer; a daughter and son-in-law, Joann and Roy Hedrick, II of Atlanta, GA; grandsons, Joey Bailey of Spencer, Roy Hedrick, III and his wife, Sara of Atlanta; granddaughter, Rebecca Hedrick of Atlanta; great grandsons, Christopher and Joshua Hedrick also of Atlanta.
Edie was a retired employee of Kellwood Company, Spencer and had attended the Clover Community Church, Clover.
In honoring her wishes, a graveside service was held Saturday, January 4 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clover Cemetery with the Rev. John W. Lowe officiating. There was no visitation.
John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, was in charge of arrangements.
