WV KNIFE AND GUN CLUB - Logan Man Shot By Friend, Happy New Year Shooting

LOGAN SHOOTING - A 2 a.m. argument between two men in Logan County resulted in one man shooting the other.

Christopher Ellis, 38, shot Ronnie May twice in the abdomen and then struck him with the gun, said the West Virginia State Police.

Police said the two men were friends.

The victim was taken to CAMC General Hospital, where he is in critical condition.

Ellis has been charged with malicious assault and is in Southwestern Regional Jail.

BOONE MURDER-SUICIDE - - Two Boone residents are dead after a double shooting Thursday morning at Comfort.

Police responded to a domestic-related incident.

Police say the shooting was sparked by a fight between Bobby Hatcher, 45, and his wife Reba, 34. State Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Baylous said Bobby Hatcher used two handguns, one to kill his wife and the other to kill himself.

Police say three people, including a 10-year-old and a 5-year-old, escaped the house unharmed.
