| Luanne M. Conrad, age 83 of Elyria, Ohio, passed away Friday December 27, 2013 in Elyria Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was born October 16, 1930 in Shock, West Virginia and had lived in Elyria since August of 1953. Mrs. Conrad was a member of the North Ridgeville Church of Christ where she was a Bible Class teacher. She was a Normantown High School graduate, a graduate of Glenville State College and earned her Masters Degree from West Virginia University. She had retired in 1980 from Elyria City Schools where she was a teacher and a reading supervisor. She also taught school in Gilmer County, WV at the Rosedale, Cub Fork and Laurel Run Schools. She enjoyed sewing, organizing family reunions and for the last 20 years, wrote the family almanac. She is survived by her husband of 64 years Carl Conrad; daughters Sue (Jerry) Farley of Brandon MS, Jill (Todd) Spriestersbach of Grafton WV; grandchildren Jerry Jr., Josh (Ann Marie), Jesse, Seth (Alicia), Michelle (Paul), Daniel (Liz), and Ashley. Survivors also include great grandchildren, Taylor, Andrew, Kate and Trey. She was preceded in death by her parents Grover and Oe Miller and 13 loving brothers and sisters. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., Glenville, WV. Graveside services will immediately follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Normantown, WV with Rev. Vernan Kerns officiating. Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., Glenville is assisting the family with local arrangements.
