FALL FIRE SEASON ENDS TUESDAY - Forest Fires Down

WV's fall burning season ends Tuesday with its' restrictions.

West Virginia Division of Forestry says there are some outdoor burning rules that remain in effect all year long.

No matter what time of year it is, residents cannot leave outdoor fires unattended.

The Division of Forestry investigated approximately 137 fires in the fall season that burned 2,100 acres, way down from previous years.

Calhoun had few fires reported during the fall season.

The damp fall helped considerably, along with community precaution.
