FIRST DAY OF WINTER ANYTHING BUT

(12/23/2013)
The first day of winter didn't feel anything like it.

The National Weather Service says several high temperature marks for Dec. 21 were broken.

The official high in Charleston Saturday was recorded at 75 degrees, edging the old record of 74 set back in 1990.

The NWS also noted record highs in Huntington 75 (old record 74), Elkins 74 (old record 69) and Beckley 67 (old record 65).

Temperatures will reach the 70s in some parts of West Virginia Sunday.

Christmas week the temps will fall toward Christmas Day, with no snow in the forecast.
