Ivan L. "Bunk" Allen, 84 - Clover Ridge, Spencer

Ivan L. "Bunk" Allen, 84, of Clover Ridge, Spencer, West Virginia, died Thursday, December 19, 2013.

He was born November 25, 1929, a son of the late Clee and Lillie D. Hively Allen. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Gertrude Shreve and brothers, Averill C. and Marvin W. Allen.

Bunk is survived by his wife of 61 years, Norma E. Cottrell Allen; a daughter, Sherri Allen of Spencer; three sons, Gregory and his wife Gladys Allen of Ormond Beach, Florida, Michael and his wife Lisa Allen of Spencer, and Todd and his wife Teresa Allen of Vincent, Ohio; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Goldie Lukawecz, Eunice Moore, and Nella and her husband Gordon Gribble.

Bunk served in the U.S. Army and the West Virginia National Guard having retired in 1969 with over twenty years of service and the rank of sergeant first class.

Service will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, with the service conducted by Bunk's nephews, Rev. Randy Whited and Rev. Danny Whited. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Clover Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Clover Volunteer Fire Department, 3909 Clay Road, Spencer, WV 25276.
