ROANE MAN SENTENCED ONE YEAR IN DRUG DEATH OF WIFE

(12/19/2013)
A Roane County man who gave his wife a synthetic drug that killed her has been sentenced to a year in jail.

Todd Anthony Honaker, 35, of Left Hand, pleaded guilty Monday to involuntary manslaughter, a misdemeanor, in the death of his wife, Renee Honaker, according to Roane Prosecutor Josh Downey.

Authorities initially believed that Renee Honaker had ingested a fatal dose of LSD, but they found what she'd taken wasn't LSD at all.

A Washington state man Chad Renzelman, who allegedly manufactured the drug, has also been charged in the death.
