Elizabeth Lee Kidd Persinger, 83, of Maple Hills near Spencer, West Virginia died December 14, 2013 at her home.

Mrs. Persinger was born August 28, 1930 in Orlando, West Virginia a daughter of the late James Wesley and Laura May Wilson Kidd. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Lee Persinger.

She was a retired schoolteacher of 34 ½ years having taught in Braxton and Roane Counties. She was a 1954 Glenville State College graduate where she received her BA Degree in Elementary Education. She also did graduate work at West Virginia University.

She is survived by one daughter, Diann Persinger Humphrey and her husband, Paul E., of West Columbia, South Carolina; her friends and caregivers, Peggy Kyer and Mary Parsons; two brothers-in-law, Claude and Carolyn Persinger of Red House, Maryland, and Phil and Pat Persinger of Elyria, Ohio; one granddaughter, Jessie Humphrey Sease and her husband, Gary; one great-granddaughter, Lucy Elizabeth Sease; several nieces and nephews and three first cousins.

Service 10:30 am Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME with Mayor Terry Williams delivering the eulogy. Burial will be in the Orlando Cemetery near Burnsville, West Virginia at 1:00pm on Wednesday. Visiting hours are from 9:00 am until time of service on Wednesday.
