FELONY CASES HEARD BEFORE JUDGE NIBERT MONDAY

A number of felony cases were heard before Judge David W. Nibert.

Calhoun Prosecutor Shannon Johnson brought the felony cases to court Monday.

Richard Wayne was sentenced one to five years in the state penitentiary, suspended for home confinement with electronic monitoring. Wayne relinquish seized money to Town of Grantsville Police Department ($956.00).

Wayne had been charged with one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (marijuana), a felony.

Melvin Howell entered a plea of no contest to count one of the indictment, possession with intent to deliver and delivery of a controlled substance (hydrocodone), a felony. A pre-sentencing investigation was ordered, with sentencing set for 2/24/14.

Nancy Hillegas was placed on two years probation (supervised), no fines, but must pay court costs, a $2.50 probation fee per month and a $2.50 community corrections fee per month. She was charged with petit larceny.

Eric Ray Jones will enter a plea on Dec. 12 in the Circuit Court of Roane County. Jones was indicted on one count of burglary, a felony, and one count of petit larceny. The indictment alleges that he broke into a family member's home on January 18, 2013.

Corey Lee Metheney was in court for a hearing on a motion to modify bond conditions. The state opposed the motion and Judge David Nibert took it under advisement.

Richard Blake, plead guilty to operating a clandestine drug lab, a felony. The judge ordered a pre-sentence investigation. He is set for sentencing on 2/24/14.
