Cecil L. "Jack" Dawson, 83, of Grantsville WV, passed away December 6, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family and friend Opal Swisher. Jack was born January 28, 1930 at Big Bend WV, son of the late Cecil and Della Morehead Dawson. He attended the Brooksville United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Madeline; a daughter Patti Wilmoth of Mt. Zion; son Richard (Roberta) Dawson of Grantsville; grandsons, Steve (Andrea) Wilmoth of Mineral Wells, James (Jessie) Wilmoth of Grantsville, Ryan (April) Dawson of Burning Springs, Jacob France of Elizabeth; granddaughter, Sierra (Brandon) Dawson; great grandsons Braylen Dawson, Ray and Dart Atkinson; great granddaughters, Trinity Wilmoth and Breigyn Dawson; brothers Don (Sam) Dawson of Cleveland OH, Larry and Lanny Dawson of Grantsville; sisters Georgia Smith of Florida and Delores "Boots" Richards of Big Springs as well as several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death in addition to his parents, by son-in-law Steve Wilmoth; sister Janice "Sally" Whipkey and brother Gene Dawson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday December 10, 2013, 2:00 pm, at the Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville with Rev. John Lowther and Rev. Mary Zimmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Goodnight Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00-2:00 pm prior to the services.
