BEAUCHAMP-NEWMAN MUSEUM WILL HAVE OPEN HOUSE SATURDAY - Free Pictures With Santa

A "Free Christmas Pictures with Santa" Open House at the Beauchamp-Newman Museum will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. The Daughters of American Pioneers invites your family to tour the historical building.

Santa Clause will be making an early December visit to the Newman Room to surprise your children, pass-out candy canes and hear their special Christmas requests. Rose Ann Adams will be available to take a free 4x6 picture of your children with Santa. The museum will display traditional vintage decorations arranged by Dawn and Elizabeth Adams, CEOS, and DAP members.

New items placed on display this year includes the army uniforms, portraits and papers of Robert McFee and Warren E. McFee donated by Wanda Mae Brogdon, a tobacco cutter from the Carlos and Glenna Watson Store on Elizabeth Hill donated by their daughter, Gladys I. Watson, and a framed picture of the 2011Courthouse Centennial donated by Carole Menefee. An "Outstanding Roadside Park" wooden plaque for yrs. 70, 72, and 74 from Sportsman Park was donated by Debbie Hennen. Book donations included five hardbound early 1800's books donated by Fred Cornell and a WV Living Monuments-Courthouses Book donated by Deb Warmouth.

Pioneer Daughters will be serving punch and cookies until 4 p.m. After enjoying your tour, sit down, relax and chat and share your holiday memories. This is an opportunity to view an impressive collection of items from Wirt County's forefathers. The museum is located behind the courthouse in Elizabeth, WV.
