MASON MAN ARRESTED FOR ARMED ROBERY - A Mason County man, Dale Keathley, 26, of Hartford is in jail on $500,000 bond in connection with robberies in Mason.

The arrest is related to the armed robbery of the TNT Coffee Shop and burglary of a residence.

BROTHER SHOOTS BROTHER OVER APPLE TREE - A Pond Gap man was arrested after allegedly shooting at his brother after an argument.

West Virginia State Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Baylous said troopers went to a Pond Gap house and met Timothy Lyons, 61, walking down the road.

Baylous said the man told them his brother, Howard Lyons, 67, of Pond Gap, had shot at him with a 9mm handgun.

The report says Timothy and Howard Lyons had been arguing over an apple tree.

Police caught up with Howard Lyons a short time later and recovered both the pistol and spent shell casings.

Howard Lyons was arrested and charged with wanton endangerment with a firearm and brandishing.

FATHER SHOOTS 12-YEAR-OLD SON - A Mingo County man, Acie S. Copley, 37, of Delbarton, was arrested after he allegedly wounded his 12-year-old son during a fight.

Copley, according to a police report, shot the youth in the leg. The youth was treated and released from the hospital.

Copley was arrested and charged with wanton endangerment and child neglect resulting in injury.

He is being held without bail at the Southwestern Regional Jail in Holden.

MAN ESCAPES CUSTODY - Police in Marmet are looking for Troy Allen White, Jr., 24, of Marmet, who escaped custody an hour after he turned himself in.

White was wanted for an armed robbery when he escaped.

White is believed to be armed and dangerous.
