Patsy Zane Warner Whitmore, formerly of Elizabeth WV, passed away peacefully in her sleep November 25, 2013 at Eldercare of Ripley WV.

Born July 10, 1933 in Los Angeles CA to Ruth Gunther and Cass Warner, Patsy grew up as "Paddy Smith" while being raised by her mother and stepfather Wright B. Smith on the California High Desert.

She graduated from Victor Valley High School in 1951. It was when she obtained her birth certificate for marriage that Patsy discovered her real name. Patsy married Wallace R. Shadel and they had three children, Terri, Donald and Raymond. Pat and Wally divorced and eventually Pat met and married her husband of 32 years Robert G. ("Whit" "Bob") Whitmore. Bob brought his daughter Dawne into their blended family. They had two more children, Cindy and Robert.

Being in the U.S. Air Force, they lived in several states but eventually settled in West Virginia, forever calling it home. Pat was a supportive, stay-at-home wife and mother until the kids were raised and then traveled with Bob and his job with Hughes Aircraft Company.

Back in Elizabeth after Bob's retirement, Pat enjoyed cooking at the Elizabeth Dairy Bar, and then cooking at DuPont. She enjoyed traveling to visit family, enjoying the view from the backseat of their Harley, camping, fishing, bowling, Bunco, crochet and painting.
