| Agriculture Commissioner Walt Helmick wants to see West Virginia develop deer farms for meat production and sale.
Helmick is pushing the initiative, saying he believes deer meat sales could create jobs and economic development in the state.
Helmick, a former member of the House of Delegates, has introduced such a bill while serving, but without success.
He now thinks the time has come.
