James Calvin Wease, 88 - Elkview

James Calvin Wease 88, of Elkview, West Virginia went home to be with the Lord November 19, 2013 at home after a long illness.

He was the son of the late William Waitman Wease and Alice Emily Burwell Wease. He was also preceded in death by his son, James Waitman Wease; 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

James was a World War II Army Aircorps Veteran. He was a member of Clendenin Nazarene Church, attended Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and also attended Brooksville Baptist Church. He was a member of the international brotherhood of teamsters Local 175 South Charleston, WV, 50 year member of Masonic Lodge Number 126 AF & AM. He was a retired Chevrolet Mechanic and was also retired Electrical and Diesel Mechanic for Charleston Transit (KRT) and Krogers.

James is survived by wife Lena Leota Cain Wease; daughters, Darlinda Wease McVey of Elkview, Brenda and her husband Paul "Rick" Helper of Clendenin; grandchildren, Dana, Tiffany (Rodney), Maridith (Kevan), Julie (Philip); great grandchildren, Abby, Terance, Damion, Briana and Isaiah; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday November 22, 2013 at Matics Funeral Home Inc. Clendenin with Pastor Lee Swor officiating and Military Rites performed by American Legion Post 61 Clendenin. Burial at approximately 1:30 or 2:00 p.m. will be at the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Grantsville, WV with Masonic Graveside Rites. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 Thursday at the funeral home.
