Bobby Lee Cook, 79 - North Canton, OH

Bobby Lee Cook, age 79, of North Canton, OH, passed away peacefully in his residence on Saturday, November 16, 2013.

He was born in Tariff (Roane County) WV on January 31, 1934, to the late William Alfred and Ava (Trout) Cook. He spent his childhood in the Left Hand and Looneyville, WV, area and attended Roane County Schools.

At the age of 19 he came to Canton, Ohio to work at The Timken Company. His career began as a labor and retired as the Melt Shop Supervisor after 32 years. During his tenure Bobby invented a Gas Burner Assembly for which he received many awards. Following his retirement at age 53, he continued to work many part time jobs, care for his grandchildren, and help anyone in need.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, William Lazzell, Buster, Frank, and Sam Cook and his sisters, Hattie Parsons, Gladys Cottrill, Madge Dougherty, and Mabel Hileman.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ruama (King) Cook and their four daughters, Carla Martinez, Sandra Collier, Janet (Dan) Richards, and Barbara (Don) Helbert; his grandchildren, Tad (Jennifer) and Marcus Martinez, Krista (Josh) McDermitt, Jacquelyn Martinez, Miranda and Brendon Collier and Madisyn and Clayton Richards; his sister Betty (Hallie) Wade of Grayson, KY and his twin sister Barbara Payne of Elkview, WV.

Services will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Trinity Baptist Church (1211 East Maple Street, North Canton, OH 44720) and officiated by is nephew, Richard Webb. Calling hours will begin at 1:00 pm with services to begin at 2:00 pm. Following the service everyone is invited to join the family at the church for food, refreshments, and fellowship.
