Marshall Allen Barnhouse, 56, of Gilmer County WV, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at his home. He was born November 9, 1956 in Roane County WV, a son of Roberta Nichols Barnhouse of Virginia and the late Donald Barnhouse. He was a self employed logger. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Emma Minney Barnhouse; a daughter, Shannon Cole of Virginia; a grandson, Siaire Reign Brown of Virginia; a brother, Donald (Joellen) Barnhouse of North Carolina; a sister, Robin (Lee) Walker of Virginia; an aunt, Hellen (Ronnie) Batten of Spencer, West Virginia; an uncle, Pete (Ruth) Nichols of Spencer; and several more aunts and uncles. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harrison and Rebecca Nichols and Virgil and Dorsie Barnhouse. At Marshall's request, he was cremated with no visitation or service. His ashes will be spread on his farm in Gilmer County. Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer is in charge of the arrangements.
