Throughout the years since the Wayne Underwood Field Management Committee has taken over the field, the group has upgraded many things with the help of local volunteers, a Change the Future grant, and the Calhoun County Commission.

There are many events at the field (the former Calhoun High School field) The walking track is utilized frequently. The Grantsville Farmer's Market is held there during the summer months.

Some of the little league youth football teams play or practice on the field. We also have softball players during the summer either practicing or teams playing.

The lower practice field was used this year for a Mud Bog during the Wood Festival.

Beginning this week, the field is being using for the All-Star Youth League Football practice. The practices will be on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for the next couple of weeks.

The Calhoun Youth Football Committee has helped tremendously in numerous projects at the field, including help getting the All-Star Practices held there.

This committee has brought the concession stand up to Health Department standards and went above and beyond to help the sports youth in the community.

The Wayne Underwood Field is a great place for our community to utilize in many different ways and the Wayne Underwood Field Management Committee welcomes everyone to use the field.
