RANDOLPH SHOOTING - The Randolph County Sheriff's Department is investigating a shooting that killed a man. It happened in a remote area of Randolph County early Thursday after midnight.

"We're still continuing our investigation to determine if this is accidental, a homicide, or suicide. We're still determining what occurred, and how it occurred," said Randolph Sheriff Mark Brady.

The West Virginia State Police's Crime Scene Unit was on scene in the Rich Mountain area to process evidence and assist.

HUNTINGTON SHOOTING - Huntington Police say a 6-year-old child was in a bedroom where a man was shot Thursday morning in Huntington.

Lt. John Williams says the victim, Christopher A. Jones, 25, of Huntington, was shot several times while he was in bed. He is in a local hospital in stable condition.

Williams says the child was in another bed in the room, but was not hurt.

Jones, the child, and child's mother all lived in the apartment.

Police say the woman told investigators that right before the shooting she walked out into the hallway and found a man wearing all black and his 20's standing there.

The woman says the suspect then walked into the apartment, going straight to the bedroom, without saying a word, and opened fire.
